FORMER Kabushi PF member of parliament Bowman Lusambo’s trial failed to take off yesterday as he was purportedly unwell after travelling from Luanshya Remand Prison to Lusaka. Lusambo’s lawyer informed the court that the journey from Luanshya, where he is incarcerated, to Lusaka had stressed his client and he has a headache. This is in a matter where Lusambo is charged with two counts of possession of property reasonably suspected of being proceeds of crime. On Wednesday, the Luanshya Magistrates’ Court sentenced Lusambo to two years with hard labour for unlawful wounding. The court also denied Lusambo bail pending his appeal against the sentence.
