THE Lusaka High Court has quashed a two-year sentence which was handed to Lusaka lawyer Germano Kaulung’ombe and another by the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for obtaining money by false pretences. Kaulung’ombe and Stanley Tembo, a legal assistant, were accused of obtaining K600,000 from five people by falsely pretending that they had plots for sale on the Baobab land. According to Zambia Police, the duo were said to have swindled five National Pension Scheme Authority (NAPSA) directors. In this matter, Kaulung’ombe, Tembo and Leonard Nyoni, a businessman, were charged with six counts of forcible detainer and obtaining money by false pretences.
