A 33-YEAR-OLD intern doctor from Maina Soko Military Hospital has been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly raping a patient. Meanwhile, Lusaka Magistrate Kawama Mwamfuli has granted the accused, Waza Lungu, bail in the sum of K20,000 in his own recognisance. The offence is alleged to have occurred on March 4, 2025. The case was allocated to Magistrate Mwamfuli by Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili. Appearing before Magistrate Mwamfuli at the Lusaka Central Correctional Facility, where she was sitting as a Mobile Court, Lungu denied the charge. His lawyer, Petronela Kafumbe Chisenga of the Legal Aid Board, thereafter applied for bail, which Magistrate Mwamfuli granted at K20,000 in his own recognisance with two working sureties.
