ZAMBIA and Japan are this year celebrating 60 years of bilateral relations. To mark this, the Japanese embassy in Zambia has organised various commemorative events which are expected to run throughout the year. Last Saturday, the embassy of Japan hosted the “Japan Day” at Manda Hill Shopping Mall and later premiered the Japan Film festival as the very first events to kick start these commemorations. The Japan day was characterised by a number of activities which showcased the Japanese culture. Hundreds of people of different age groups who visited the arena took time to participate in these activities which included some Japanese games, learning the Japanese language, writing and culture, and trying on the Kimono (the traditional Japanese clothing).
