First Republican President Dr Kennerh Kaunda has been discharged from the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) where he was admitted for four days.
Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya who visited the former President at the hospital shortly before he was discharged confirmed the development.
Dr Chilufya said Dr Kaunda was discharged with a team of specialists who would be carrying out scheduled reviews on him.
“Doctors are satisfied with his condition, he is stable and He is free to go home. He is being discharged with a team of specialists in our specialists transport and we will continue following up on his condition from the team of specialists that we have constituted. For now he will be attending scheduled reviews as determined by the team of specialists,” Dr said Chilufya.
“I can confirm that Doctors have told us that he is in a stable condition and he can go home. As I mentioned earlier on that Dr Kaunda came in with a minor ailment and he has recovered fully and for now we also took advantage of the facility to do a number of tests on him.”
