FINANCE Minister Dr Bwalya Ng’andu has urged citizens to wait for Cabinet to make a decision on whether the country will be put on lockdown following the rise in COVID-19 cases.
In an interview, Dr Ng’andu said the decision would be announced in due course.
“The lockdown decision is a decision that is taken by Cabinet as a whole. These are matters that are being considered so it’s not one Ministry that makes a decision. So, I think the best thing you can do is to wait and see the decision that will be taken in response to what’s happening,” said Dr Ng’andu in a brief interview.
Over the weekend, Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya announced that the country had recorded a total of 120 COVID-19 deaths as at July 18, 2020, with the cumulative number of cases shooting up to 2,980, with 19 patients on oxygen.
