LUSAKA lawyer Chifumu Banda, state counsel has welcomed the Judiciary’s plans to start broadcasting public interest cases, saying such a move will create confidence in the court systems. Earlier this month, Chief Justice Mumba Malila disclosed that the Judiciary was considering allowing public interest court cases to be broadcast live during deliberations. Addressing journalists during a Judiciary and media workshop, Justice Malila said this aspect would be considered during a Policy Committee Meeting for the Judiciary, to be held in the first quarter of next year.
