HEALTH Minister Sylvia Masebo has told health workers to stop stealing drugs, noting that so many pharmacies have mushroomed near public health facilities and are being run by officers employed by her ministry. And Masebo says government has been told that some of the equipment at Lewanika General Hospital needs to be thrown away because it can no longer be fixed. Meanwhile, Masebo says some health workers are demotivated because they have worked up to 10 years without any salary adjustments, essentially earning the same as new entrants.
