YOUTH, Sport and Arts Minister Elvis Nkandu says citizens shouldn’t measure the cost of living with only mealie meal as prices of other essential commodities like cooking oil have reduced. Commenting on JCTR’s Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB) for the month of July which increased by K61.73, Nkandu said when the UPND government assumed office, cooking oil was fetching over K200 but the commodity was now costing less. “This is the government of the people. Definitely, when we face challenges of the cost of living, we have a mandate as government to make sure that we really satisfy our people’s needs. Obviously, we’re not sitting idle. We are planning on how best we can try to arrest the situation....
