POLICE in Kitwe have summoned Nkana Independent Member of Parliament Binwell Mpundu to appear before its Anti-Robbery police station for questioning today. But Mpundu says the charge which police are investigating him for is a bogus one aimed at persecuting him. In May this year, police in Kitwe recorded a warn and caution statement from Mpundu. Mpundu said he was warned and cautioned in connection with a matter in which some youths in his constituency were arrested for alleged theft and criminal trespass following their actions of digging up scrap metals in an area belonging to KCM.
