VANDALS have damaged a Zesco transformer in Lusaka West’s Kasupe area worth US$15,000, which is about K400,000. The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday. Speaking during a visit to the scene, Tuesday, Zesco Director Supply and Customer Service, Peter Chamfya expressed concern over increased cases of vandalism, describing the acts as economic sabotage. “Once again this is not the first time, we go through this every day. Our infrastructure gets vandalised by the Zambian people, and this is not acceptable. We get complaints as I said every day. Transformers get vandalised.
