KAMFINSA PF MP Christopher Kang’ombe has urged government to degazette part of Mwekera Forest in Kitwe to allow Katoka Mema residents to conduct proper farming activities in the area. In an interview, Kang’ombe said people should be allowed to own land and conduct productive farming activities in the forest that was declared a reserve pre independence. “I want the appeal from farmers to come out because land use changes with time, that which used to be a forest reserve 30 or 50 years ago can’t continue to be a forest reserve when there is urbanization and we have huge demand for people to do economic activities.
