THE Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has apprehended six individuals, among them three Malawian nationals, in Eastern Province for possessing US$40,000 suspected to be counterfeit currency. In a statement, Friday, DEC Public Relations Officer Allan Tamba said the suspects were also found in possession of K2,800 counterfeit notes. “The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC), in Eastern Province, has successfully apprehended six individuals for possession of suspected counterfeit currency. The suspects were found with counterfeit United States Dollars amounting to US$40,000.00 and 2,800 counterfeit Zambian Kwacha in Mugubudu, Chipangali District.
