SPEAKER of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti has declared the Kawambwa seat vacant following the imprisonment of Nickson Chilangwa. During business in the House, Wednesday, Luena UPND member of parliament Mubita Anakoka rose on a point of order, wanting to find out if both Kawambwa PF member of parliament Nickson Chilangwa and his Pambashe counterpart Ronald Chitotela’s seats would be declared vacant following their convictions by the courts of law. “Madam Speaker, Article 70(2G) of the Constitution of Zambia deals with circumstances under which a member of Parliament can lose their seat.
