US Ambassador to Zambia Michael Gonzales says the US government stands with the people of Zambia as they manage and mitigate the drought effects. And Vice-President Mutale Nalumango says the 2023/2024 crop forecasting survey revealed that the drought-affected Southern and Western Provinces of Zambia can produce under 80,000 MT of the projected 1.5 million MT. This was during the launch of the Food Security Drought Response Assistance project yesterday, where the US government, through USAID, donated relief maize worth K500 million to Zambia.
