THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has disputed claims by Tonse Alliance spokesperson Sean Tembo that the Commission intends to nullify the nomination of the National Congress Party (NCP) candidate for the Kawambwa parliamentary by-elections. The Commission however says officials that accompanied the NCP candidate displayed thuggish behaviour at the nomination centre. In a statement, Friday, ECZ Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Sylvia Bwalya said Tembo’s allegations were false and meant to mislead the public. “The Electoral Commission of Zambia is dismayed with the conduct of the officials who stormed the nomination centre without accreditation, accompanying the NCP aspiring candidate during the filing in process.
