THE Socialist Party says it has been holding conventions routinely as stipulated in its constitution. On Tuesday, Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa urged opposition political parties to hold conventions in 2025 ahead of the 2026 general elections. Mweetwa said government was concerned that a number of political leaders had not been elected by any mandated organ of their political parties, citing Fred M’membe and Harry Kalaba.
