THE Zambia Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has insisted that government should increase the Pay As You Earn (PAYE) threshold in the 2023 National Budget because the country’s economy has relatively been stabilising. The Union holds the view that in order for the take-home pay of the workers to make sense, the tax-exempt threshold should be increased to K8,000.
