THE National Assembly of Zambia is currently missing three members of parliament, two from the main opposition, PF, and one Independent. These three lawmakers are serving 30-day suspensions each for one offence or another. Calling the Republican President a liar, calling out the speaker for gagging opposition MPs and “disorderly conduct” are some of the charges used to punish the lawmakers. Speaker Nelly Mutti and her two deputies; Attractor Malungo Chisangano and Moses Moyo have been merciless in meting out punishments. This is a growing trend in the House of Laws.
