The Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) has summoned former Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda to avail himself for questioning, Wednesday morning, at the Commission Headquarters in Lusaka.

DEC public relations officer Theresa Katongo confirmed this in an interview but could not disclose the reasons, saying the Commission would give a detailed statement over the matter at an appropriate time.

“Yes, there is a summon that has been sent out for him to appear before DEC tomorrow morning. But of course as an institution, we shall issue a statement at an appropriate time on why we have summoned him. I cannot confirm anything else for now, [but] we will be able to issue a statement at an appropriate time,” said Katongo.

However, unconfirmed reports suggest that the call out is in relation to some money laundering charges.
