THE Pensions and Insurance Authority (PIA) has terminated Christopher Mapani’s contract as Registrar and CEO. But Mapani has lamented that Labour Commissioner Givens Muntengwa made some remarks which made him believe there were maneuverers to give his position to a “preferred candidate” during the LAZ AGM. Muntengwa has, however, refuted Mapani’s claims, describing them as mudslinging. In a letter dated April 20, PIA Board Chairperson Peter Banda informed Mapani of the board’s decision not to renew his contract. “We refer to your letter dated March 16, 2023, on the captioned subject matter and its attachments.
