Bahanti PF member of parliament Harry Kalaba says Zambia is at the crossroads and citizens can no longer accept politics of arrogance.

And Kalaba says he has no intensions of joining the National Democratic Congress but he will continue fighting for justice within the Patriotic Front where he continues to serve as member of parliament.

In a video message shared on his Facebook page, Friday, Kalaba observed that a bad leader resorted to threats in the face of criticism.

“Zambia is at a crossroads. we are at a time when the nation requires not our individual brilliance but rather strength of our collective resolve to make a difference and stand up for justice. Those of us who do not agree with my view point, or who do not consider my action as my own version of objective action to fight what I perceive to be inconsistent with the dictates of good leadership are at liberty to have their say. The true test of leadership and courage lies in those who have a different view point. A good leader will see an opportunity if how things can be done differently, or how to use the views of others to improve their own. A bad leader will feel intimidated and resort to demeaning tactics and a war of words. Zambia has moved beyond this level. Zambians can no longer tolerate the politics of arrogance. They are looming for leaders who make it a point to obtain exemption from the extremes of intolerance,” Kalaba said.

And Kalaba refuted claims that he would join the NDC which is led by Roan PF member of parliament Chishimba Kambwili.

“I have heard unfounded suggestions that my next move is to join the National Democratic Party as a potential candidate for 2021. In my request to the President, I made it clear that my intention was to remain and retain my seat in parliament and I have not deviated from that stand. I will continue to serve this nation, representing the gallant people of Bahati. Be rest assured that I will spend the remainder of my political life fighting for justice, prudence and sacrifice. I will always be a part of that group of people who will never forget the grand promises of equity which our forefathers drafted for us,” he said.

He said it was unacceptable to embrace those who opposed any idea which had potential to override theirs.

“The elements in the PF who have chosen confrontation over dialogue and those who have chosen indifference over taking a stand risk people mistaking the party for a party that regards itself complacent in the mirror of history, resting on the arms of a doomed foundation. The hatred of indifference and intolerance should become our new collective duty. We can no longer tolerate or embrace those among us who oppose every kind of thinking that has the potential to rise above theirs. This does not represent what we Zambians have become in 53 years of history and independence. This effeminate culture overlooks the truest element of our destiny. namely, to be a point, on the scales of African democracy, and torch bearer in our quest to represent our goal as a nation that has truly surrendered to his will. Each one of us today should make a choice never to surrender our sovereignty,” said Kalaba.

Kalaba also congratulated new Minister of Foreign affairs Joseph Malanji on his appointment.
