A KABWE resident has petitioned the state in the Constitutional Court seeking a declaration and order that Section 5(1) of the Emoluments Commission Act No.1 of 2022 is unconstitutional, and therefore, null and void to the extent of its inconsistences with the Republican Constitution. Edward Bwalya Phiri also wants Section 5(1) of the Emoluments Commission Act No.1 of 2022 expunged from the statute books. Phiri has cited the Attorney General as the respondent in the matter.
