THE Ministry of Education says all 1,533 pupils who qualified to Form One in Itezhi-Tezhi District have been successfully placed within the district. Earlier, Itezhi-Tezhi UPND member of parliament Twaambo Mutinta raised concern that over 1,500 children who qualified to Form One in the district failed to secure school places due to inadequate infrastructure. In a statement, Saturday, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Dr Kelvin Mambwe said the placement had been achieved through a combination of targeted administrative placement adjustments and optimal utilisation of existing secondary school capacity, among other measures. “The Ministry of Education has taken note of public reports indicating that 1,533 pupils in Itezhi-Tezhi District were without Form One places.
