FOR years, residents of Kabulungwe ward in Chief Muwezwa’s area of Itezhi Tezhi District, Southern Province, have endured an eight-hour boat journey just to reach the nearest health care facility. Relief has finally come to the floodplain community, as government, through Constituency Development Funds (CDF), has constructed a modern health post at an estimated cost of K2,966,796.60. The project includes the construction of a health post, which is 95 percent complete; construction of four VIP toilets and an incinerator, 100 percent complete; construction of a 1×2 semi-detached staff house, 100 percent complete; and installation of a water purifier, 100 percent complete.
