ECONOMIST Oliver Saasa says if for some reason Zambia does not sign an MOU with its official creditors next month, people should realise that this is a very complex debt negotiation. In an interview, Friday, Prof Saasa said the recently held Spring Meetings had given Zambia hope that it might sign the Memorandum of Understanding with its creditors probably by next month. “So even next month that we are talking about, yes it looks like the Spring Meetings have given us hope that probably by next month they are going to sign the MOU, which is everybody’s hope. [But] if for some reason it’s not next month, it moves on, people must learn to realise that it’s much more complex....
