GOVERNMENT has clarified that only 126 constituencies were funded under CDF in 2017 and 147 in 2018. And acting Local Government and Rural Development Minister Mike Mposha says the former ruling party used to give CDF in “medas”. Speaking in the National Assembly, Tuesday, Mposha said other constituencies did not receive funding in 2017 and 2018 because government prioritised disbursements to areas whose MPs were not cabinet ministers. He was responding to a question from Bangweulu PF member of parliament Anthony Kasandwe who wanted to find out how many constituencies, countrywide, did not receive CDF in 2017 and 2020 and how many did not receive in Western, Eastern and Luapula Provinces in 2018. “Out of the 156 constituencies 126 were funded as part of the 2017 CDF allocation....
