MPIKA PF member of parliament Francis Kapyanga has lamented over government’s failure to call for a stakeholders’ meeting to address illegal gold mining activities in his constituency. In an interview, Kapyanga said there were serious environmental issues surrounding the illegal mining activities in the area. “As it were, the situation remains the same. Foreigners are in the mountains illegally mining and on a large scale. We have reported to government and we wrote to government that they call for a stakeholders meeting where we will chart the way forward.
