ENERGY Minister Makozo Chikote says government has no control over power that is usually restored at awkward hours. Commenting on recent erratic supply of electricity in an interview, Makozo said the supplier decided as and when to give power during off peak hours. “The power that comes around 01, 02, 03, that is the ‘non-firm’ power that we were importing whereby the decision lies in the hands of the supplier. He can give you or he cannot give you, you have no power to control. Now, the peak power where you, around 07 o’clock you want to make a cup of tea, you want to warm some water, people going to work back to the offices…there are activities, that’s why...
