MINES Minister Paul Kabuswe has disclosed that government has suspended operations at Avocado Mining Limited in Kalulushi for environmental breaches, including discharging fumes within the district without approval from ZEMA. Meanwhile, area MP Kampamba Mulenga was made to withdraw her claim that government had failed to close the processing plant in question because money had exchanged hands with the Chinese owners, after she failed to provide evidence to support the allegations. In response, Kabuswe insisted that the mine had been closed.
