Two Lusaka residents have been dragged to the magistrates’ court for stealing five peacocks from Court of Appeal judge Chalwe Mchenga’s New Kasama residence.
According to facts before court, Edwin Munjanga and Evan Mukwane, both of Kanyama compound, broke into judge Mchenga’s yard by cutting through an electric perimeter wall.
Judge Mchenga’s wife Chipasha told officers at Nyumba Yanga police post that the suspects had poisoned four dogs and stole five peacocks.
Police recovered and returned the birds to judge Mchenga.
Munjanga and Mukwane will take plea for theft and injuring animals before magistrate Mary Chibanga soon.
