The Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has put a 27-year-old man of Kanyama compound on his defence after finding him with a case to answer in the matter where he allegedly assaulted a man suspected to be his wife’s lover.

In this matter, Rodwell Luneta is charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

It is alleged that on May 2, 2018, Luneta assaulted Kenan Sakala.

And when the matter came up for continued trial, arresting officer Njovu Vuyani of Los Angeles Police Post, told the court that when he conducted an interview, the victim, Kenan Sakala, had a swollen face, a broken jaw and a cut on the forehead.

Asked why he had assaulted Sakala, Luneta said he had found him with his wife in their matrimonial house.

“Because I found him with my wife in my house,” Luneta said.

The case has since been adjourned to September 24, 2018, for defence.
