A Lusaka woman says her wish is for justice to prevail in the matter in which her 13-year-old juvenile daughter was allegedly defiled but died few days after giving birth.
Madren Chipulu says her daughter who was in grade seven and leaves behind a two-months old baby, died after she allegedly suffered postnatal blood pressure.
This is a matter in which Keyala Phiri, unemployed, of Bauleni Compound is charged with one count of having unlawful carnal knowledge of a child.
Particulars of the offence allege that in October last year, Phiri had carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
But when the matter came up before magistrate Sakwanda, Thursday, it was adjourned to August 22 this year, for continued trial.
After the court session, Chipulu, the mother of the victim who had attended the case, disclosed that the victim died five days after she gave birth to a child she conceived after allegedly being defiled.
She said her daughter who leaves behind a two months old baby, died after allegedly suffering postnatal blood pressure.
Chipulu explained that after the victim gave birth on May 3, this year, she died a few days later after suffering high blood pressure.
She added that physicians said the victim was too young to fall pregnant.
Chipulu said she wants justice to prevail in the matter.
She said the matter had dragged and her wish was that it would be concluded so that justice prevails.
Chipulu said before her death, her daughter testified in the matter in April this year.
