FORMER First Lady Esther Lungu is today scheduled to appear before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court in a case in which she is charged with theft of motor vehicle and possession of $400,000 suspected to be proceeds of crime. Esther is jointly charged with James Phiri and Lee Chisulo, both police officers, as well as Kapambwe Lungu and Catherine Banda with theft of motor vehicle and theft charges. When the matter came up for allocation yesterday, Chief Resident Magistrate Davies Chibwili allocated it to Magistrate Mbuywana Sinvula. The accused persons were, however, not before court.
