THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has convicted and sentenced social media blogger Mwewa Chitambala, popularly known as Simon Mwewa to six months imprisonment for the offence of malicious damage to property. Particulars of the offence in the matter are that Chitambala, on June 1, 2023, in Lusaka, willfully and unlawfully did damage two motor vehicle tyres, both valued at K4,600, property of Benjamin Talamuka. Chitambala pleaded not guilty to the charge and was not represented by any lawyers. He was found with a case to answer after the State closed its case upon producing four witnesses, but he opted to remain silent and did not call any witnesses in his defence.
