A TAXI driver of Monze district has sued the state in the High Court, seeking K1,500,000 in damages for assault and battery after the Zambia Police Anti-Crime Unit, commonly known as ‘C5’, mistook him for a suspect and shot and beat him up. Dallen Mweemba, who has cited the Attorney General as the respondent, is also seeking special damages in the sum of K7,500, as well as damages for permanent injury, loss of future earnings and interest on the sums fund due to him.
