THE Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division, has ruled that former tourism minister Ronald Chitotela is legally bound to pay Value Added Tax (VAT) on the K6.5 million owed to Azadi Investment Limited for the construction of his house. This is in a matter where Azadi Investment Limited sued Chitotela in the Lusaka High Court, demanding an order for payment of K6,500,000 and the corresponding VAT, interest, and an alternative order for the sale of the Chongwe property, CHONG/LN_21188/51.
