Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) has announced Catherine Phiri’s next fight on November 25, 2017 against US based Kenyan pugilist Fatuma Zarika.
In a statement, OQBP director Christopher Malunga said Phiri will be challenging Zarika for the WBC Supper Bantamweight title.
“I’m very proud to announce that Catherine Phiri, the former World Boxing Council (WBC) bantamweight champion has been given a chance to challenge the current World Boxing Council (WBC) Supper Bantamweight Gold champion Fatuma Zarika,” Malunga said.
“The championship Promoter is Bigger Than Life Entertainment from the United States of America. In partnership with Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions (OQBP) the championship will take place on 25th November 2017 at Carnival Gardens, Nairobi Kenya. OQBP would like to thank Bigger Than Life Entertainment and World Boxing Council (WBC) for giving Catherine Phiri another chance to fight for the Gold championship.”
Zarika has a record 43 fights, 29 wins-12KO, 12 loses and 2 draws. She won the WBC super bantamweight gold title after defeating the champion Alicia Ashley on October 1, 2016.
OQBP added that the bout will be streamed live in Zambia on www.FiTETV.com and www.tvtibi.com.
