Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (ZPBWCB) chairperson Nelson Sapi has died.
Sapi passed away today but the cause of his death had not yet been established.
He was an amateur boxer in the 1960s before he switched carrer to football and coached Mutondo Football Stars, a Centralized Services Mine Division sponsored team in Kitwe which played division one super league football.
He later joined Rugby and was appointed as a Committee Member for the Lusaka Rugby Team for almost four years.
He was later appointed as Chairman of the boxing board in the year 2002. During the same period, he became Director for the Commonwealth Boxing Commission representing Zambia, only to resign three year later.
In 2005 Sapi was appointed Vice President of the African Boxing Union for East & Central Africa, representing ten countries including Zambia.
