FOOTBALL House has revealed that it reached out to match officials who boycotted games over the weekend, to resolve their issues.

Last weekend, match officials in Lusaka, Central and Southern Provinces boycotted games over unpaid allowances, resulting in the cancellation of Division One, Two, Three, and Women’s Leagues matches.

In an interview with Goal Diggers on Tuesday, FAZ General Secretary revealed that the association had a fruitful engagement with the aggrieved referees.

“We had a fruitful engagement with those that went on boycott for whatever reason. The provinces affected are Southern and Lusaka. We are looking at their issues and can’t fail to find a solution. It’s not only about being paid their dues, but several issues like inadequate transport refunds. We are working to ensure that we finalise everything before the close of this week,” Kamanga said.

He mentioned that the main obstacle is the lack of documentation to verify the amount owed to the concerned parties.

“Their representatives have not given us the documentation of amounts owed. Paying has never been the issue, but documentation. We need to validate, and their provincial chairmen must sign off. We have continued to take measures in consultation with our members and will duly communicate with the referees through their representatives. The general concern revolves around transport and unpaid match officiating allowances,” said Kamanga.
