South African entertainer Zodwa Wabantu has been deported.

Zodwa whose real names are Rebecca Libram was detained at KKIA until her deportation this morning.

This reporter had a glimpse of the hand-written deportation order given to the dancer which did not outline any reasons.

“Yes I can confirm that she [Zodwa] was deported this morning on 07:20 hours aboard a South African Airways flight,” an airport official who sought anonymity said.

And promoter Lucky Cheelo Munakampe said; “Basically is confirms what kind of a country we are becoming we are making her more popular. This has become more of a matter of Zodwa than Karasa. She is coming in as an MC because of her huge following. This is pandemonium, Zodwa is not the only South African to be denied [entry] and it has now moved to arts.”

Immigration Department public relations officer Namati Nshinka was not available for comment by press time.
