Government has released K10.6 million to the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) for payment of workers salaries.
Ministry of Information acting Permanent Secretary Beaton Kaluba confirmed this in a statement yesterday, adding that government would continue funding the Corporation during its transition period until the Television levy measures were finalized.
“Government has released K10.6 million to ZNBC towards the costs of salaries. This response from the government is a subversion to cushion the national broadcaster from the financial challenges it is experiencing. The government funding will help the corporation during the transition period while the Television levy measures are being finalized,” stated Kaluba.
