Luanshya Police have insisted that NDC leader Chishimba Kambwili appears for questioning tomorrow despite his request to defer the interview to December 10.
In a letter addressed to the Luanshya district criminal investigations officer today, lawyers from C L Mundia and Company stated that they were unable to avail their client on Thursday as he had a matter before the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
But Luanshya Police, on instructions from their commissioner, Charity Katanga, have insisted that the Roan PF member of parliament appears before them tomorrow, without fail.
One of Kambwili’s lawyers, Christopher Mundia, confirmed this in an interview, but disclosed that all the lawyers were unavailable tomorrow.
“Yes, our client has just advised us on the position which police have taken. I will get back to you on the way forward because as it is, all lawyers, including from Keith Mweemba Advocates, PNP Advocates and Muleza Mwiimbu and Company are unavailable tomorrow,” said Mundia.
