President Edgar Lungu has told Roan voters to pray so that God can help them discern “abapupu (thieves)” from genuine leaders.

Meanwhile, President Lungu says he feels nauseous every time he mentions Chishimba Kambwili’s name because the NDC leader is interested in nothing else but satisfying his stomach.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Luanshya district to drum up support for Roan PF candidate Joel Chibuye, Tuesday, President Lungu told voters to pray for discernment because there were too many politicians pretending to be what they were not.

“Nomba abapupu ngabakumana, elyo nomba balalanda pali democracy, kuti mwati nakuti eya, aba kuti bateka. Elo mwebena Zambia mulepepa pakuti twakwata spirit of discernment pantu abantu abesa mu sheep skin bengi. Ngamwasanga politician alelanda mwamona nokumona ati uyu nidemocratic leader, but they are full of intimidation, no regard for others, Mr know it all! (When thieves come together and start talking about democracy, you might think that these are good people, they can govern well. But as Zambians you must be praying so that we have the spirit of discernment because there a lot of people who come in sheep’s skin),” President Lungu cautioned voters.

The Head of State charged that Kambwili was a self-confessed demon-possessed man.

“Ilyo nacilaima ukufuma ku Lusaka, bacinjeba ati ‘ngawaya ku Roan tekwesha uku mu lumbula, nangu te kwesha uku mulandapo. Nomba lilya tuleisa mundeke nailuka, nati ‘campaign yalaba shani nga tatulandile pawatufisha pano. (When I was starting from Lusaka, they had told me that when you go to Roan, don’t mention him, or even talking about him. But as we were on the plane, I realised that ‘how will the campaign be if we don’t talk about the person who has brought us where we are?’ We are here because of that man! Ubucushi bonse mu Roan niulya wine ewaleta (He is the one who has caused all the suffering here in Roan!) Now, how can I campaign without mentioning him or talking about him? Lekeni ndande nangula nabankalipila kwena; ulya muntu ulya mwikwite, mu 2006 mwamuvotela aba shicilye wamung’anda yamafunde ku Lusaka, mu 2011 nakabili mwamuvotela aba na minister, tapaba efyo abomba. Incito kulandafye nokutuka abanankwe, nokushoba abanankwe kwati bena katwishi efyo baba! (Let me talk even if they have told me not to talk about him, that person whom you know in your hearts, you voted for him in 2006 and 2011 as MP and he became a Minster, but there is nothing that he has done! He has only been talking anyhow and badmouthing his friends)!” President Lungu exclaimed.

Pantu alikwata ama demons cacine, he is a self-admitted possessed person, full of demons! Ati ‘munjeleleko, calinkole ciwa, bena babafye neciwa lyonse. (Make sure you finish those who have illusions that they will form government! They first need to go and pray to remove the evil spirits, which have filled their heads because that man has demons, he is a self-admitted possessed person, full of demons! President Lungu said since birds of the same feather flocked together, those who were walking with Kambwili were fools with no intellect whatsoever.

“Mwebantu, mulekwata ukwishiba utuntu, ishibeni utuntu…batila icakunyelele tacilabwa, umulembwe wacipuba nao upwila mulitumfwe (You should know things, they say you can’t forget someone who wronged you). That man has been tried and tested and he has failed the test! Now, he is here with a proxy in the nephew to become your MP. They say: ‘birds of the same feathers flock together.’ ‘Batila abantu nganibakabwalala, belendela pamo, abantu ngamaule bendela pamo, abantu nganindoshi, bendela pamo, so balya abaleendela pamo naulya muntu, fiwelewele. (They say when people are thieves, they walk together, prostitutes walk together, those who are wizards also walk together! So, those who are walking with that man are fools!) Tabakwata sikopodonono, tamulipo amano (they have no brains, no intelligence at all),” he said.

“Let me say this: in fact, this Chibuye you are seeing wanted to contest in 2016 here in Roan as MP together with Nathan Chanda. However, in our thinking we said: ‘ba MCC, Kambwili kuti basebana’ (MCC, Kambwili will be put to shame), that’s how we pleaded with Nathan Chanda to stand as Mayor and I appointed Chibuye as DC. I did all this to preserve Kambwili’s pride because he could have lost if he stood with Nathan Chanda. So, when he said I am making my own party and started insulting me ‘ati Lungu wanunka mukwapa’ (you have stinking armpits), that’s how we picked Chibuye to come and contest here because he is also a resident of this area.
