MINISTRY of Health Permanent Secretary for Technical Services Dr Kennedy Malama says 1,580 new COVID-19 cases and 42 new COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. And Dr Malama says 74 premises closed in the same period under review for operating outside the public health guidelines. Speaking during the COVID-19 update, Thursday, Dr Malama said government was encouraged by the sustained reduction in admissions to hospitals but the positivity rate was relatively high at above 20%. “In the last 24 hours, we recorded 1,580 new confirmed COVID-19 cases out of 7,935 tests conducted, giving 20% positivity.
