SOCIALIST Party leader Dr Fred M’membe has told police that he has not committed any crime and that they are abusing the law by arresting him. Yesterday, police arrested and charged Dr M’membe for libel and recorded a warn and caution statement from him on allegations that he committed the offence of “communication of certain information”. Responding to questions as he was being interrogated, Dr M’membe said the police wanted to victimise political opponents. “Throughout history, those who administer the criminal justice system, hold the power with the potential for abuse.
