POLICE in Mansa have apprehended 20 people in relation to illegal mining of suspected Sugilite ore. Confirming the development in a statement, Wednesday, Police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said police had also impounded a tipper truck carrying suspected Sugilite mineral ore, a Toyota Hilux motor vehicle, six motor bikes, a low bed loader truck and an excavator. “Police in Mansa of Luapula Province carried out an operation after receiving intelligence information and apprehended 20 people in relation to illegal mining of suspected Sugilite ore. A tipper truck carrying suspected Sugilite mineral ore, a Toyota Hilux motor vehicle, six motor bikes, a low bed loader truck and an excavator have been impounded and parked at Luapula Division Headquarters in Mansa,” he said....
