UNZA lecturers and support staff have vowed to continue their protests if government does not meet their conditions. They argue that the K75 million released by government to UNZA staff for gratuities only covers unpaid arrears from 2015 to March 2016, and is therefore not enough. Education Minister Douglas Syakalima announced last Friday that government had released K206 million as a partial settlement of the K1.3 billion owed to UNZA staff.
