ZESCO says it currently doesn’t have enough power to feed all hospitals. On Friday, Mtendere Mission Hospital in Chirundu asked bereaved families to take their loved one’s bodies a day or two after depositing them in the mortuary because their back up generator had developed a fault. Chirundu district commissioner Patrick Kasambila also said Mtendere Mission Hospital is also unable to cook for patients due to load shedding. And a check by News Diggers at some clinics in Lusaka revealed that they were sending patients away due to load shedding and water challenges.
