ENERGY Minister Makozo Chikote says he expects to be briefed on the issues at Zesco this week, as he has only seen the matters in the media. Last week, Zesco board member Dr Jolly Kamwanga resigned, citing a lack of transparency and respect for due process in the board’s governance practices. The resignation came hardly a week after Company Secretary Matembo Lisimba resigned. In a resignation letter dated November 6, 2024, addressed to the Industrial Development Corporation CEO, Dr Kamwanga accused Zesco Board Chairperson Vickson Ncube of exhibiting a morbid fear of imaginary competitors, an alarming casual approach, opaqueness and limited consultation in decision-making, among other issues.
